This is the start of a new monthly column where our editor, Becka, tells you what she’s bought or used each month that made her say “WORTH IT.” Deciding what to buy can be hard. We got you.
A set of kitchen shears, $14.95 on Amazon
You know all those things that are frustrating to cut while you’re cooking and are the reason you order takeout? Well, TAKEOUT NO MORE (Well, okay, at least less)! Kitchen shears can:
- Easily chop green onion, garlic, ginger and fresh herbs
- Trim filo pastry, the flesh off fish or poultry or the fat off meat
- Cut bacon into tiny pieces
- The idas are practically endless. A handy list can be found here.
Milk and Dark Chocolate Chai Almond Bark, $3-4 at Trader Joe’s
Trader Joe’s new seasonal chocolate hits two of my favorite fall flavors: chai and almond. It’s comforting, like chai tea, and sweet, but has the dark chocolate bitterness and delicious crunch from the almonds. A couple of small pieces will get you through even the toughest afternoon. Head over to your nearest Trader Joe’s to keep that chocolate stash STOCKED!
Sam Edelman’s Tinsley Rain Boot, $32.99 on Amazon (also available at Nordstom Rack, Sam Edelman, DSW, etc.)
The start of fall also means more rainy, dreary days that are still humid and a little warm. I typically hate rain boots – why must we put our calves in a hot, uncomfortable, stiff rubber prison?! But these boots have changed my mind. Because they’re ankle height, my feet can breathe and I don’t end up overheating, my calves don’t feel trapped all day and they’re remarkably easy to zip on or off and throw in your bag.
