Becka Wall – @beckawall
I had a tough day today. Everything that could go wrong did, and I had a pile of neverending work on my desk. I left for home feeling irritated and cranky, but I was determined to make the day my own again – without spending any money. By 10 p.m., I had succeeded.
Step 1: Take a walk.
I live about 2.5 miles from work, so I just decided to walk home. It was a bit of a trek, but it helped me clear my head – I even ran into one of my good friends along the way and got a hug and a chat out of it!
Step 2: Make a delicious and healthy dinner.
Pasta is my go-to dinner, because it’s delicious, versatile and most importantly: CARBS. I went for a healthy, but still comfort food dish – whole wheat with sauteed greens, olive oil and parmesan cheese.
Step 3: Pajamas. Blanket. Bed.
I don’t care what time it is. Get in your comfiest clothes, girl.
Step 4: Watch TV shows that make you happy.
I went with “The Daily Show” and “The West Wing,” because they remind me why I do what I do everyday – I want to change the world and call out the dumb politicians while having some fun in the process.
Step 5: Dessert.
Personally, I am a firm believer that the last thing you eat for the day should be sweet. I had a bowl of grapes (not pictured, sorry guys) and a palmful of dark chocolate covered raisins. MMMM.
Step 6: Tea and a book.
I went for a caffeine-free tea with lemon and honey in my favorite mug, which I stole from my childhood home (it’s emblazoned with my Grandpa’s catchphrase: LOVE YA!).
